Where can I get a chain bar wrench and screwdriver that folds up compactly, or nests, so that I can slip it into my pocket without poking the blade through my trouser fabric?

They sell these rubber peices in Baileys that allow you to mount them to the handlebar of your saw.......I keep one in my back pocket, you just need to be mindfull of it when you're about to sit down or get into a vehicle...I'm not sure I've seen a folding one.

Gotta second the scrench mount idea.

I have one on my 066 and 7900, and will put one on my 044 once it is back together. They're wonderful, it is so nice to never have to wonder where your scrench went, to have it fall out of your pocket in the woods, whatever. It's just there, riding along on the saw. If your saw's handlebar will accept one, I'd definitely throw one on there.

Admittedly not the best picture, but you can see it mounted on the 7900 and 066 here:

I use a multitool, not a scrench, but works pretty good in a pinch.
Lots of other useful stuff there as well.

Sounds like you have an invention to patent!

Hey, a folding scrench, now there is a fresh idea. Kind of sounds like something to tinker with.:blob2:

Why not get a wedge pouch with a slot for the scrench, and your chain and raker files, as well as spots for wedges. Then hang this on a belt around your waist. These are all things you should have with you when cutting anyhow, along with your PPE, and an axe for driving the wedges too.

Honda dual sport bikes and some of the small generators come with a spark plug wrench that the screwdriver blade fits in the socket. Pull out the screwdiver and slip it through the back of the socket to make a T handle.

My snowmobile and Kawasaki dual sport bike also has the cheap little socket you describe. You could probably modify the scrench to work, except you would need the screwdriver body to get some torque...

Or you could tack a 13mm nut on the end of the screwdriver part, that the socket body could fit on... that would function as a decent handle.

Oooh OOoh! COPYRIGHT/PATENT!

Thanks. Never heard of them but three are now on my shopping list for my next stop at the store.
