Looking through the catalog and was wondering what everyone thought of the footlock runners with the snap hook at the end. does anyone use or reccomend it, or otherwize?

Waste of a snaphook. I use one that I SPLICE MYSELF(not an advertisement) That has a big eye one one end for the prusik knot, then a little carabiner eye on the other end.

The carabiner I use for footlocking then goes on the end of my climbing line that I SPLICED MYSELF after I get up to the TIP in the tree.

Dunno

Have one (sort of, fiddled around with a 5/8 3 strand safety lanyard I got cheap on eBay) but never used it.

Here's the info from a rope manufacturer....

Footlock Runner Locking Snap on One End, 11” Eye on Other End

Available in ½”, 12-strand single braid, Sta-Set double braid or 3-strand filament dacron.

Loop can be tied into a Prusik knot around climbing line for use as a limb walking lanyard or a footlock safety.

Allows extra “freedom” while working in the tree.

Length: 42”

Not going to post the URL, since I don't know if they are sponsors. :D

But they have some NEat rope.
