During the past week,I worked on modding my 395 during the late hours of the night after I got home...I finally got it all back together on Wednesday, and it got called into action on Thursday...We brought down this red oak.It was four feet in diameter where I made the falling cut,but it took me all of Thursday and most of the day Friday to get it off of the house and low enough to fall. There was a water line running very near the base of the tree, and irrigation heads to dodge..It had to fall at just the right angle to avoid hitting a big holly tree to the left, and a smaller holly just past that one.Had it gone any farther to the left and it would have destroyed this 8 foot tall brick wall that surrounds this lot...The kicker was that I needed the butt to jump at least five feet off of the base of the stump to clear the water line..We got on this job at 7 Thursday morning, and didn't finish until around 6PM on Friday...So to my employees who hung in there and helped me get it done..THANK YOU!!...That would be Lucas,Todd,Doug,Steve and Brian...All occasionally stroll here and view the pics that I post...I promise we won't have another week like this for a while as long as I can help it..The modded 395 preformed better than I even expected..It seemed to run at higher rpm's in the cut with more torque...Pulling much faster than stock...The muffler was modded and the cylinder ported to a very satisfying result...The tree fell perfectly, with many thanks to Doug tugging at the rope..So here goes...

The saws..

...A big load off...Note the two smaller holly trees in the left of the picture..There was a little less than four feet between the end of the log and the big brick wall...

Did you actually get in there and degree the saw or did you just start grinding???

Having ported dirt bike engines for the last fifteen years or so...I had some idea of what I was doing...I didn't go too crazy in there...Just opened it up a little more so it could breathe a little better

I need to add that I'm sorry for the way the pics turned out...It was kind of hazy while we were taking pictures...Doug shot all of those...Chic is a little better with the camera, but she was not on hand.

I've been racing gncc's and hare scrambles for the last fifteen years...I rode a KDX in 93 and 94...It wasn't air cooled of course...but it was a great bike..

The 372 ain't such a bad saw...As long as it sits in my building...I prefer the 440 when it comes to saws of that size.

Agreed...........as long as someone ain't shovin' that and the 361 down your throat!!!

About the only thing I could use a 361 for is a door stop:)

I really like the 372 and the 361........(have 2 of each..........modded of course)..........just don't need to have threads derailed and these 2 saws shoved down our throats!!!

He knows who he is!!!
