Living where I do I see lots of marine traffic and one thing I've noticed is the use of flat booms again. Hardly ever saw them when barges ruled the coast but I see them often nowadays.
Lots of traffic headed to and from Alaska too.

Here's a load of sawdust on a Seaspan barge headed somewhere.
The second pic is the little tug that was towing it.

Here's a typical barge load headed to Alaska. Lots of containers, RVs, trucks, cars and whatever else they can fit onboard.
