Had the weekend to do just that to get ready for the next onslaught. I figure 500 lbs. of shavings from planing/jointing. Can't see it now for a Stihl backpack blower moved 2-3" of chips off the floor to outside the door.

Luv the shop, ever had any isses with the wood stove snd sll the saw dust/shaving etc?? Just curious, the table saw ?(maybe) the three bases with the large work table ..........3 table saws???

I beam just a bit. It has taken me 16 years to put this all together. One old machine after another and many miles logged to get them here. Money and time well spent. The cabinet machines are a 1959 Unisaw (on the right) 1972 contractors saw in the middle and a 1936 shaper on the left. Back then there was an option. sheet iron base plate welded into the plinth with dolly wheels barely visible and just below the base making them mobile around the shop. You need not to foot pedal a jack...the weight of the machine holds it steady. No issues with the Baby Bear wood burner and or flammable material.

Unfortunately no I didn't. I was either too young or too old as of yet. The Marine flag flies in honor of my Father in Law who served in Korea. My Dad was a Colonel USA WWII and Korea. This place you see here was my FIL's Grandfather's place. Now I have yet to pass it on to my sons. Machines and know-how as well. Burl is a Rock Maple 36" across. There are 3 of these. I reminisce.

I was going to the Marines, but got a job last minute and decided to stay around home.

Good to see you're still honoring your family.

Looks like a burl, but it's not under a bench. Looks like a wood lathe to me.

Timberframed, I see you're flying the USMC flag. Did you serve?

LOL You're correct. All I saw was the burl. It's like seeing a picture of a pretty lady wearing only high heels and being questioned later of what color they were.

I also hope to get my shops to the state of Timberframed's.

Right now they are terrible.

My workshop for tools is almost empty

.

My primary vehicle workshop only has 1 tractor

.

And the poor RV workshop needs to be filled.

But I'm sure I'll get them filled up so I'll have to clean them out. :)

I'd be thrilled to have any of those buildings.

Bro, Try to do what I did and save some green. Use the internet auctions and such to obtain vintage American made machines. So we need to replace a motor...a bearing or two....Just be goll dang sure any cast iron tables, trunnions, dovetail ways and gibs, parts aren't cracked...and even then...if you have to do any oven welding you can bake a large pizza in one of those in about 3 minutes. Fill the space up with machines and enjoy the rest of your life with humbleness. It brings a smile.

I might add that sometimes the vintage machines will actually cost less than the box store equivalant. They are made to last more than a lifetime.

The 10 inch Cinncinatti grinder I picked up for $100 has made me grin everytime I turn it on. The thing is just amazing. Amazing enough that the other three grinders I have are in the yard sale box. I knew i got a good deal when it took two guys to put it on my trailer with out a base.

I just picked up a tensile strength tester ( hydraulic /mechanical). I wasn't even sure what that was. I used it to press out the ball joints in my truck. I have to say it didn't even flinch even from sitting for 30+ years.

Happy hunting.
