Best of Luck!!! Good interview. It has to give you a lot exposure as well as something to talk with people about. We are a few counties up from Wake but my Brother's wife works at NCSU. She communites daily from Randolph Co.

What good is a Dolmar?

Or is it Sachs Dolmar?

Anyhow, I only tried one of them about 15 years ago, at the recommendation of a saw shop in Hillsboro, Oregon.

It was not a pro model.

Anyway, I only did small pruning then, and used the saw for about 8 hours over a 2 month period. Then the engine broke.

The saw shop guy had no real explanation. I got a refund. I had not even heard of the brand until then.

Anyway, I stuck with Stihl and Husqvarna since then.

Is Dolmar still holding onto it's share of the market? Growing?

Is it the dominant brand in some areas of the world?

Hey Uwharrie, your sisterinlaw (please make sure her Wake coworkers get the link and VOTE!) must drive right by me if she takes US 64. I just worked at ncsu yesterday.

O and I need help slicing a 2" slab out ot a log--white oak <2'wide and 6' long. Need it sliced out of the middle, then treated to prevent cracking. It's just west of Troy can you help with that? Will pay for your time.

M.D. Vaden, It's now only Dolmar and yes they are growing and their saw business has doubled last year in the states. They have some new products like a PS-3410TH top handle saw and a PS-5100S mid size saw that are lightweight and have great power. The 5100 has become a saw to own if you like a 11.2 lb saw that has 4 horsepower and sings at 14,500 RPM's. As for the saw you had, I can't say but some of their older models of topping saws were made by different manufacturers such as Tanaka. They now manufacture all their saws in Germany.

treeseer, About the tree job, thanks but I only sell saws as I don't have a service. We are in Asheboro north of Troy about 30 miles. I would suspect there are arborist down there that could help, I just don't know of any to recommend. If you need any saw supplies check out our website. Thanks Tony
