Nice saws!

Lemme guess, you two drove down and picked em up yesterday? Here's a pic I took on my Saturday tourist run yesterday:

Could have saved ya some gas or shipping money if I'd known. I had my P60 down there getting crank bearings and seals. Just need to get a new ignition in it now.

Somehow, I got distracted by tractor stuff on the way back, and it turned into a 7 hour, 300 mile implement dealer tour! Oh well, it's a fine way to waste a day.

We enjoyed our trip as well, stopped at quite a few garage sales looking for the very elusive bargain chainsaw. NADA... I did get two new pairs of pants and 3 pairs of shorts and a nice shirt for like $12. And Sarah got a nice pair of practically new Rocky hunting boots for $5. We also enjoyed just getting to chat with Scott and his dad and son and mom, the hole monkey clan was there.

Nice

Nice saw Sarah , but , I'd like to see you run your saw with your body turned a little to the right , kind of a 45deg angle to the wood , and keep your head/neck out of alignment with the saw blade , just in case of kickback .

That wasn't wasting the day. That was scouting out good places to find a bargain on tractors and chainsaws and stuff.

Haha- I knew that'd get you to look!

Some of you may have read the thread I started on the saw I put together for my awesome hubby, Andydodgegeek. (http://www.arboristsite.com/chainsaw/198509.htm)

Well, I got myself a surprise saw in Missouri, too! I'm a bit of a newbie in the world of chainsaws- having run my first saw less than a year ago. But the morning after the big surprise for Andy, work saw collector walked up to me and handed ME a surprise chainsaw of my own! I was so excited- my 1st Stihl- an 026. He told me it was not a great runner, but was sure we could have some fun with it- well, he was right! The saw didn't even make it home - we dropped it at treemonkey's for a tune & a mod on the way. Just got it back today- and here's my newbie self running it through a huge oak stump- bigger than my 18" bar...

Cool, but what is the flash that comes out from the stump at 0:43?

i agree w/mt. stalker. also, might want to lighten up when you near the end of the cut. looks like your chain almost cut some earth. course you'll figur that out after you've had to restore a rocked chain a couple of times. just sayin. btw, love your saw. good on ya.
