Anybody use the webbing type f/saver with the rope prusik?

Thinking about gettin one. I like the idea of the web type and think it would be even better if it were adjustable. They offer it with the optional rope type prusik w/ring.

I just can't wrap my head around the idea of a rope prusik squeazing onto a pc of flat webbing. Seems like it would have to distort it quite a bit in order to grab.

Anybody have experience with one of them?

I have one but to be perfectly honest I have never used the prussic and ring around the spar as it is meant to be used. I use the friction saver often, I've just not tried the adjustable prussic. By the time I get down to working the spar the friction saver is long gone, I'm in a hurry, usually tired from working a large tree and just haven't been struck by the fancy of using the friction saver and prussic to rappel down the spar, I have always been pretty good at leaving a small nub to tie off on when I am working a large spar, Prolly not the ideal tie in but I am always lanyard in as well so it is no big deal. Only reason I really like to do it is it is easier to cut a notch or make a face cut on a really large spar if you are suspended by your climbing line. I have been known to cut a notch in the spar and use it to rappel off of as well. So to answer your question, yes I have one but no I haven't taken the time to try and use it yet.

I use one of these almost daily for a couple years now and love it. In fact, this is the only way my friction saver gets used. The prussic will distort or crush the friction saver a bit, but nothing that will hurt it. And i've never had the prussic slip on it in the cold like i've had them slip a couple times on frozen ropes not to mention it is one hand adjustable. My only complaint is the six foot friction saver is often too short for the stems we end up with.

Thats what I was wondering about .
I didn't know how compatible the rope prussic was on the webbing FS.

THANKS
