yea it happened good while back..
aint sure who bought who but its called electro lux now. i think.. just a name for a large property management ,an holdin corp.. ,,is my take on it..
my thots are the decision makers dont build nothin.. just buyy companies that do,and do what ever makes the most money.. seems it would be easy for a class action suit agaiunst all that stuff they sold thru lowes..look at the cc specks stamped on the saw versus the one stamped on the box.. i brought this discrepancy to lowes attention 2 yrs ago . they dont care,, one way or the other if the info is rite.. nobody in the stores even knows..jmo.. sue me lowes.. just be sure an feed my dog good...thats all u gonna get:) less u wanta pay my land off then i can feed the dog..

This is even better: Makita is now owned by Skil, so the new Dolmar chainsaws are Skilsaws.

Elux owns both Frigidaire and Husqvarna. Frigidaire is their finance company. This is why any Husky dealer has to finance through Frigidaire. If one buys a saw from the Husky distributor, the bill comes from Frigidaire. What this amounts to in a royal pain in the butt when dealing with paperwork...for every one chainsaw you buy, you (dealer) receive no less than 4 different pieces of paper to file...packing slips, invoices...etc...and just another check to write to a different company.

As far as I am concerned..Husky and Frigidaire can go somewhere very warm!

It gets better yet.
My new Dolmars are also set up through Frigidaire. The good news is that on my last statement they told me that I will never have to pay them again. The company's new name is now Electrolux Financial.

That sounds just ducky Dan...I was so relieved to get rid of their paperwork crap and audits that were never correct...one time they came into my store and did an audit...everything worked out perfect to the sheet...then I got a bill for 10 grand for all the units that I had previously sold....and paid for...took months to sort out..and then they wanted me to pay the interest on them...hopefully Jonsered doesn't go the same way....as they are still a private dist. here..

Screw it. I'm just going to start making my own saws, less confusing!
