I hear the 441 is running lean, mean and grean (yay EPA) and there have been some vauge reports on the 441 being pretty easy on the fuel.

I was curious if anyone has a comparison to a 361 on burning through a tank of gas in terms of minutes or hours.

Or to perhaps broaden the scope of experience, how does it compare to a ms460 in time before the tank is dry?

The reason I ask, is my cousin is after a firewood saw, while I can let him play with a 460 and 361, I've got NO idea on how the 441 runs. (Looks like the weight is the same as my 460).

Well, funny you ask this now. Just cut up a trailer load of wood with Brandon today. Along with the test against the 7900 we did today, I bet my 441 didnt use a 1/4 to 1/3 of a tank. Thats probably equal to 6 minutes of continual run time.

So your saying after 6 minutes of in-the-cut running the 7900 was dry ?

Thats pretty good, provided they have equal volume tanks... the 441 has 150%-200% more run time.

( I hope my maths is right)

So to make this another degree of relation, whats a 7900 and 460 compare like in fuel consumption.

( to FURTHER broaden the scope of cutting experiences)

Well, no. What I meant was after 6 minutes of running my 441, I had only used about 1/3 of a tank of fuel. A couple cuts with a 28" bar and the rest with a 16".

Im not sure what Brandon had left in his 7900. If I had to wager a guess, Id say he probably burned about half a tank for everything we did.

It's heavier than a 440..

Trigger got me drinking... nothing I post tonight can be held against me. other than a nubile blonde..

I haven't pitted the 441 against the 440 like I have the 395 and 660...But the 441 is very noticeably easy on gas......I haven't did any research as to which one holds how much...I'm gonna do a muffler mod to my 441 and open it up a little and see if I can make it lock horns with my 046.

Oh man, Oh man, Oh man... I would sure be interested in how that one turns out. Please start a thread when you get there.

Thanks in advance.

Has anyone seen Lake, I have a question for him!........I think he is hiding
from ME!

And yes I would like to here more about the fuel use of the 441.

LAKE!.......... HEY LAKE............BUDDY!

The 440 holds 1.9 more ounces worth of fuel, so the 441 has a little ground to catch up.

When I had a 441 to test I took it and my 361 to work each day. I was felling and cutting hardwood to length to be hauled by a porter. I got 40-45 minutes per tank with each saw. So the 441 was harder on gas than the 361 as it holds more gas. I thought 45 minutes out of a 70cc saw was not bad. I cut the same amount of wood with each saw also. For me the 361 was a better choice as it was lighter, and easier on gas for the same amount of wood. Just telling how things turned out for me, not starting an argument. Both are good saws.

Hey thanks, thats pretty much what I was after!

I realize the 441 is going to burn more gas, its a bigger fuel/air pump by 10ccs.

The fact it hangs with a 361 for endurance is saying something, I can cut for a long time before it finally sucks the tank dry!

I hope my cousin will buy one, soon. Otherwise I might have to get me one... and that might leave my 460 without a home. Naw, that wouldn't happen:ices_rofl:

I'd need a dual port muffler for a 441... and a full wrap before that happened.

Sweet.

Now, about the details, did yours come with dual dogs? The one at my dealer has duals... and I want to make them fit on my 361. But I was curious of all the 441's were coming out with decent dogs...

Hmmm Ill have to investigate this further...

Might order me some 441 dogs (if they are different in any way) to make work on my 361.
