Full comp or skip on a 24" bar?

Mostly fro reach Andy, I rarely bury the bar. But the wood I cut is some kinda hard. Some of it is so tough that I've bent the handles on my hydraulic power assist jack splitter and driving a standard wedge into it is near impossible. I'll have to get some skip or semi-skip and see how that works. Which brings up the next q. Does anyone use semi-skip chains?

The full comp will cut slightly faster and smother. That said, we run skip on all our 3/8 chain saws (except the LP of course). We cut in mostly residential areas and hit stuff in trees all the time, we also have ground crews without much experience running the saws. Both these factors mean a lot of sharpening. Skip is easier and faster to sharpen.
