Morning Y'all

from other post on here I understand that full wrap handlebars is apparently a northwest thing. I'm in the southeast and have never run one with a full wrap bar. What's the deal?

The deal is that full wrap allows you to handle saw both way which comes necessary when cutting on steep slopes where getting to other side for cut is not an option...

Ask yourself these questions:
Will my wife, daughter, or any small child ever use the saw?
Do you ever expect to run the saw in a dress?
Do you call your significant other, your "life partner"?
If the answer is yes to any of these questions, then you need a full wrap handle, as well as some really big dawgs!

LMAO!!

Despite Mike Maas's attempt at humor, try this thread.

The Case For Full Wraps and Long Bars

There are also many more that can be found by using the search function if you feel the need for some more reading on the subject.

Thanks Pig. I've actually got that thread, along with my "big dogs" thread bookmarked so I can pull them up for just such an occasion. Beat me to it.

GRT-I hope that thread answers your question.

Actually Mike, I was going to ask these questions-

Are you afraid of trees larger than 18" in diameter?
Are you too puney to handle a saw in uneven terrain?
Is your longest bar 20" or less?
Do you work for Richard Simmons' Logging Company?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, forget about full wraps, and be carefull with your Eager Beaver you bought at Home Depot. :hmm3grin2orange:

:ices_rofl:

full wraps look impressive sitting in the back of the pickup in these parts, more of a pain than anything. Pain to fuel, had to saw a scrench off to get the back bar nut and you can't cut that close to the ground.

Sounds like it's a little to technical for easterners to use. What or when to use that extra loop and the agony of getting to the bar nuts. O course no major steeps for a lot of them. Sure are handy on the down hill side when the saw is at head level. Mommy my privates hurt.

Yeah, my 041 has the full wrap. A bit of in the way on the bar nuts but nothing serious. Sure is nice any time you have to use the saw off-hand.
