Hi all! Like the title says, I'm curious of opinions regarding the two full wrap handlebars. I've googled and searched forums here but have not found anything comparing the two, so I humbly submit to the forum members for preferences, experiences and overall thoughts. Pro Safety or Weber Customs Inc.?

I find both for the same price- this would be going on my '93 066M coming back from the massage therapist (Chad). I will be out of town for 8 days after tomorrow so I thank you all in advance for replies and apologize in advance if it looks like I posted and left (even though I am). Thanks!

Duane

Weber. Bought two. Only drawbacks that probably apply to both Pro Safety and Weber:
(1) Shortie scrench required, otherwise the inside (left) bar nut cannot be tightened, blocked by handle.
(2) Difficult to cut stubs, buttress roots, and end-of-log beaver tails flush to the log to trim it clean.

I notified Rod Weber of these items last month. No response to date.

Thanks for the replies so far guys. The saw already has the factory "full" or 3/4 wrap, whater you want to call it, so am used to the right side drawbacks as far as close work goes. Standard scrench is PITA even on factory bar... I've got to where I'll use a 19mm box wrench most of the time (I think its's 19mm, without looking).

I have been looking for a scrench like this for a while now but I think it would work very well for your application as well!

if you use the number on it it now lists the standard one. At least that's what the counter girl said.

Then she went and got one off the bench and gave it to me.

And the lady knows stihl parts.

I got 2 now. :)

We took a typical scrench and cut the smaller end (13 mm) of the T off and filed off the burrs. That works also.

I might comment that one of the loggers who likes to get close to the ground with his felling cuts has had a little trouble doing that with the full wrap. Regardless, he appreciates the toughness of the Weber. And, I had no trouble finding the longer bolts needed to mount the handle to the bottom. Believe it or not, they match the upper right handle bolts used on my 026 PRO.

I worked for pro safety and hand made handlebars from scratch for a few years in the early 2000 rite here in the USA. Earned a living while learning how to do all sorts of stuff from welding machining and everything else that goes into the handlebars. I just bought a very messed up and trashed 066 with a Pro Safety wrap handle and it happened to be one I made 18 years ago and the only thing worth salvaging off the 066. Every other aftermarket handlebar is copied from the pro safety handlebar.
