Oh boy that will be quality for sure.

I have dealt with them on replacements parts for mowers and they sell the cheapest and worst china crap I have had the pleasure of holding in my hands for a mower.

I wonder if it's something like this?

Look how much the cutter rocks as the wheel cuts. One of the key factors in using a grinder is to pull the chain against the detent bf the chain is clamped so cutter movement is minimized and the length is consistent.

The one posted by Kyle (E&E) doesn't appear to rock the cutter with the wheel.

Subscribing.

At $500, it does not have to do a great job of sharpening - it only has to do as good of a job as a 17 year old kid, getting minimum wage, on a $300 grinder, for a hardware store to justify one. Or two. Maybe even some tree service guys or rental places. Does not have to last for 10 years either. As long as it puts a fair edge on the cutters and does not burn them. Most of the people who bring their chains in for others to sharpen are not the connoisseurs of chain sharpening that many of the guys on this site are.

Thanks for posting - hope to see more about it!

I agree with Philbert. Most homeowner, weekend warrior, and even some guys that use a saw quiet a bit, wouldn't even suspect the difference. I sharpen chains for the locals here and I think some would run a chain till it just will not cut butter. I have seen them so rocked out, I didn't think there would be anything left time it cleared. Never had a complaint. I worry about cutting the rakers for some of these yahoos. If I suspect you can handle a saw I will lower them. But when they bring in a chain rocked to crap I don't. Some people shouldn't be trusted with a potato cannon. I just feel better about not sending them out with something that could kick back and get you real quick.
