OK, time for some fun. Here's my almost first time stumps. I used a tiny wedge in the tiny one just cuz I could. The bigger one went without one but I
had it handy. I left the hinge a little thicker on one side hoping that would pull them that way. And I have stump pull! The horror! OK, ready I am.:buttkick:
That's me on the receiver end.

I've only dumped lodgepole with slant cut, push with hand and bow bar in a previous life as a precommercial thinner.

Slant cuts, geesh :buttkick:. Atleast you didn't get 'em hung up

Not so, back in the days of lodgepole dumping, I once had a mini clearcut going and set the record of having 6 hung up. So much for put the bow bar against the butt, start cut, and push hard with other hand...but that was many years ago. We got to use heavy yellow saws too. With guards so it made it hard to cut conventionally. Slant cut yes.

They look just fine Slowp. Just fine. I don't worry about stuff that size a whole lot. Just dump it and get on with the wood around you. However, that makes great practice for you! On to bigger wood soon? You can start practicing lowering your stumps there. Staying off the lean side will be more important to you than anything as you start your new falling career:cheers:

How do you get 6 hung up at once? :monkey:

Well, it took a lot of thought. One gets hung up, and we're talking about 6" ave diameter lodgepole, so you try to knock it out with another, and it gets hung up, and so on. My way more experienced co-worker came over and got them down. I'd made a clearcut with one leave tree, which he cut down to get the others down. I made a wildlife opening, I guess. I'd have had to shut me down if I was in charge of me then. But that was back when lodgepole was considered junk.

Here's Limbing is Not Fun. I had the excavator/former hooktender guy take down the others. I was under a deadline. Now I'm limbing the beasties and whacking them up for firewood. It is slow because I was doing all of the above and burning and chunking slash. And stopping to enjoy the sunbreaks on Sunday.
Hemlock is bad.:chainsaw:

Yeah, those little twigs are too light most of the time for pushing others.

+1- Your stumps look good. You got the trees down safely, where you wanted them, and without major breakage. You completed your objective and that's the measure of success in a day.

Nice work slowp! I always love how pictures from the PNW look so damp and dreary. It adds such a unique feel to the scene. Cool.
