So last December we went to cut a couple trees down in CT for a friend of my boss. We get out there, get the couple trees down and chipped. I happened to notice this ash tree across the driveway from the house with a big split down these codominant stems. I said something about it, and they said that we would come back in March or April to cut the tree down. Well, my boss never got the call to go back this spring, but he did get a call this past Sunday night to go back. One of the stems broke off and took out the guy's 1997 GMC 2500 diesel ext cab (that he was about to trade in) and his wife's 2002 tahoe.

Live and learn????

Sounds like a place I went to Jul last year where we had to remove a large Manitoba Maple that had fallen on a deck, crushing that and a garden shed and fence as well. The other tree on the side of the drive had fungus/mushrooms all up the trunk but the owners did not want to be bothered to have it removed.

Are you a licensed CT arborist? I ask only because I hear that bad things happen if you get caught practicing Arboriculture in CT with out it?

No, I am not liscensed in CT. However, if you are only doing tree removals you don't have to be. Tree care does require it though.
