after working away happily for a year, i was beginning to give up and accept that i was not going to advance much further up the company, then the lead climber drops the bombshell that he is leaving and going round the world, anyway, the gaffa cant find anyone else who could take the role of lead climber at the moment, so i am now getting to climb a lot more, and i have aquired the new unimgo we just got,

having said that we have also got a second mulcher on the way as well, ontop of teh awhi rt350 we are getting a volvo excavator mounted ahwi....fun fun fun.

so i might become an excavator operator as well, in charge of diggin stumps and roots on site clearences...

Hey good for you. I wish I was in your shoes. I know what it's like not to be in the spot light. To only be second best. Its better than second worse. Been there. Now just make up your mind and bring it to the table. Its 99 percent attitude when it comes to climbing .

OK, I promote you to head climber and tech specialist, with an increase in pay. You are NUMBER 1. Put your dark glasses on so the bright lights wont blind you and you can't see us all waiting on your command.

Hey, I can't wait to meet someone better than me. And I don't mean that as bragging. And I ain't talking about speed, or winning contests. I want the learning experience!

Jealous of the Unimog....

What are the other acronyms? AWHI? AHWI? And what do you mean by mulcher?

i really couldnt understand half of the jargon you wrote, but it sounds like you are getting a promotion. congratulations.

promo

lead climbers last day we had a jumbo oak to deadwood, pair of us did it in 2 1/2 hours, lots of leaders, lots of die back, owner wanted to keep it.....badly, bit of a tidy up, really fun going out on some really long limbs, odd working a tree with someone else, he got the side over the phone line i got the side over the garage...

anyway is a companyahwi who make mulchers,

we have a tracked machine and are getting a 20 ton excavator mounted one

not really tree care, more tree mass slaughter, or tidy up clearfelled areas for the next cycle of planting

as for unimogs, we have a 1650 with crane and what not and newer one (not too sure of the model) with a 13" farmi chipper....and its my baby

Come on Jim do I really need to answer that one. With you gone I'd really be sick and tired. Your a ray sunshine in the morning. With your abilities and great attitude you deserve to be number one. I accept that. Nothing wrong with being number two? is it? maybe?

If more arborist were like you I'd be more proud to call myself one. Untill then I'll stick with telling people I work the drive through at McDonalds.

Is this what arbor company politics is all about? I'm always alone in the work, most of the time. No companies for me, I make more alone and don't have to answer to 'da man'. I don't even have a regulae ground person, the companies I work with just send over a clean up crew when I call.
