Hello,
I'm Souhila a plant pathologist from Algeria, I'm new to Arboristsite and I'm really glad to find such rich information and discussions about plant care. Actually, I have difficulties to identify a problem that occurs on oak. the leaves are attacked by an insect that produce kind of galls. I dont know if they are insects or mites... (I'm not entomologist). The leaves and the whole branches are then completely dried and burned. I'm posting a picture that shows the galls (actually I dont have any picture about the insect itself as we found the galls empty).

Thank you in adavance

happy to be among you.

Souhila.

Welcome, don't get to see any Holly Oaks over our way. Unfamiliar with your strange leaf gall, looks like a wasp gall. Can you post a pic of the underside of that green leaf? Oak leaf galls that I know of don't kill the branch, I think you have something else going on there.

Thank you Raintree for your reply. The picture represents both the underside and the upside. The dried leaf ion the picture s the underside, seems that the insect comeout from that hole. I also never saw such galls, the ones I used to see are round and have very small holes.
