Do a YouTube search millivolt burner troubleshooting.

Could be as simple as pilot flame deflector. Have you done any cleaning inside and bumped anything?

Today the thermostat works in shutting it off but it still needs to be tapped to get it going.

I’ll clean everything including thermocouple and thermopyle this weekend and try it once more before I start throwing parts at it.

I haven't had a chance to take it apart and clean it again. Maybe tomorrow night.
