i keep the old bottles and go and buy a case of em at the grocery, dump half of em in the old bottles and fill up with water. not as sweet and last's alot longer that way too.

im not sure about the color thing. i left a gallon in the woods one weekend that it was below freezing and when i came back it was clear. it had been yellow!

i was told by somone who worked fires out west that the factory actually mixes that stuff more rich than your body can handle. so if your body can absorb x amount of the minerals and other stuff thats in there, they mix in 2x. that might explain the kidney stone thing?

anyways i take an old 3 quart plastic juice bottle and mix it to enough mix for 2qts. i think it tastes better and saves me some dough. if i do start to get low early in the day i just add more water.

i lucked out once. i was two mile from the truck and ran out of water. came across a brook and thought hey, thats water! didnt think about it til i got home that i could have picked up giardia! i didnt, but ive always made sure to pack enough water since.

If I could snort it and stay hydrated I would. I live on that stuff in the summer but I will say I don't mix it according to instructions. Most of the time it's more like flavored water but I do buy my share of it from convenience stores also. For some odd reason I can only drink straight water when I'm playing hockey

I drink about 32 oz a day mainly when I get home. My old roommate was an MP in the army and he aways mixed it 1/2 of what it called for. He said that he was told in the service that it had to much sugar at the recommended or premixed rate.

X2

I really don't like more than a few drinks of "full-strength" gatorade.

I take a bunch of water bottle with me. (cheap little ones that have been refilled) Buy two 32oz gatorades and then mix them into the water as I feel like it. Most of the time I bet it's less than 1/2 strength.

A gallon a day would be easy...but I usually only work like that till noon...or from noon to night. I try to avoid working in 2-gallon-a-day situations for an entire day.

I had a dentist friend that spent some time in the desert for military training. They were obliged to drink 1 quart an hour, or head for the medics tent.

Several gallons of gatoraid sounds like way too much sugar and salts to be good for you.

It is what it is dan, it is what it is.

But no, not really dangerous, I'm sort of a freak like that I guess from the reactions I've witnessed over the years.

There was this dude who only drank one can of soda his wife put in his box each day. He would drink alot of booze in the evening though. Once we got him to smoke some pot, he drank all of our water in about an hour.
Didn't get to Ashworth's big jug of orange gatorade though( thank God). Ashworth made a good brew, real watered down and lots of ice.
Now when you get a little older you may realize just how nice it is to sit down and eat lunch, to relax a second and re-group. It is nice, you should try it, it will change your temperment, maybe people will like you... more than they do now of course. I bet you are a real sweetheart when you are starving and dehydrated, I know I am. Food is good, so is a drink a water every now and again Boss.

They use it to preserve aborted fetuses for study.

Just a trick that works for me...

I like the powdered GA and mix it 4X's too strong and keep it in a GA jug next to 5 Gal. of ice water.

Pouring some of the GA into a cup, and diluting it with the water works real well.

Sometimes I like about 1/3 GA-extra (slightly stronger) and sometimes mix it real weak or just drink water.

To much GA is just not a good thing, it's formulated for most to just not be appealing if your body dose not need it. Some always agree with it and drink to much.

lol so am i the only one here that uses squincher lol the fruit punch flavor is good >.O:chainsaw:

I run Powerade, 1-2 32ozers a day. I like to drink half of it and fill it back up with water. Sometimes when I feel crazy I even mix the flavors together, I know it's nutz.:dizzy:

I rarely even eat lunch when working, sometimes even in the summer I'll go all day without even water. ...

Plenty of fluids at night though. ;)

Yep. Me too.

It all started in my youth, working for my dad. All day, usually no food and usually no water.

It became a lifetime habit.

And no, I don't get cranky for not having any water or food. I look at the other guys sweating, hot & miserable, hanging out at the water cooler constantly, and I think to myself how much happier I am to be working along without feeling miserable like them. I try not to be too much of a tyrant on the job, and I even make them take lunch breaks when they don't bring a lunch.

i will drink some water or squincher whenever i refuel my saw. that way i can give the saw a little cooling time (2-3 minutes):greenchainsaw:

All people are different, so take this for what it's worth to you. I generally pass at least 1 big kidney stone per year since I was about 21. If it's 1 thing I've learned it's that sweating is good for you. Lots of ice cold water and for a energy boost a good cold gatorade or powerade. Knock on wood, no stones in about a year. If your not sweating you're asking for trouble.:blob2:

Gatoraid

The best way is to mix it with water 50/50. Drink enough so that when you urinate it is fairly clear. Dark urine, or no urine means you are not drinking enough. If you stop sweating you are very dangerously dehydrated.

I usually drink a lot more water than gator aid. In warm or hot weather don't wait until you are really thirsty to drink. Once you get too dry you are playing catch up. It is much better to stay ahead of the game.

Heat stroke, Heat exhaustion and heat cramps are serious conditions.

Take care of your body its the only one you have.
