Looks like a nice machine. I can't imagine it's all that good on lawns with those narrow tires though. At least with my tractor I have the rear tires to "fix" the ruts the front make on wet lawns sometimes.

Better than a skidder though, prolly by a large margin at that. i'm sure you can fit turf tires on it anyway. Prolly comes with those skinnies for marketing accessability.

We have a gehl 280 at work we use for unloading semi trailers. Even though it only has 39 hp it gets the job done very well. the only complaint we've had is the AWS gets thrown off and you drive at an angle til you correct it, Which wouldnt apply to the 140. You almost have to drive one to see why people like them so much, I'm guessing it's the price tag that turns people away.

True enough. Go for it moneybags!

Heh, I really don't have any money. I just don't have a wife or kids yet, so I have more disposable income.

That being said, all this equiment is to increase production. And it's all a tax write off anyway, so why not?

I just like the idea of an articulated loader much better than a skidder for the lawns I'm constantly working on. Only bad thing is there isn't a large surplus of used Gehl 140 units cuz they just came out with them. :-(

I can't afford 26k for a new one..

You mean "skid steer", or you're actually using a full blown logging skidder on people's lawns?? (lol).

I meant skidder. I figured you'd know what I meant. So much less typing, but now, after typing this, it wasn't really worth it now was it? :biggrinbounce2:

Saved a lot of pain by pulling up from the bottom of this rose bush with the forks, cutting it and taking the whole thing out from the backyard in one. I actually managed to feed the thing with the forks too, once I compressed it a bit. If I had my old chipper and no tractor, that little project could have really sucked!

My groundie takes care of the prickle bushes. Ha. Yeah, that's a honkin butt you got there chained up..

Why are people not talking about the Gehl 140? I don't understand.

Were thinking about getting one within the next year or two, when out multi-trac thats the precurser to the 140 craps out. ours will lift about 1000# the 140 will lift i think 1600#. That will be nice :biggrinbounce2:

Maybe for 26000.00 it comes with a free groundie for one year to drive it.:D

seriously though gehl is a solid company so i hope it will last us for a good 10 to 15 years, hopefully. thats about 2000 a year and they do the work of 2 guys.
