Who do you have your GL Insurance with and how much are you paying?
Mine has gone from $562 to $829 in three years with no claims. $300,000 coverage.
With Commercial Auto and Workerman's Comp I'm dieing a slow death.
No wonder so many tree services around here don't carry insurance and seem to be doing better than me.
Any ideas on the GL Insurance?

That's part of your overhead, you'll need to reflect it in your rates that you charge. Average it out over the total hours worked in a year, and you should come out ahead.

The amount you mentioned is very reasonable. My base rate for 2 mm coverage is higher than that, but under $1300, I think. It is actually lower than ever! I'm with the business division of Safeco.

I've been insured with no lapse since 92. The rates fluctuate from 1600 to around 900 annualy. I'm with accord for several years now, 100,000 for 900.

so who do you use?

I go with a local broker for GLI, and the underwriter changes almost every year. The broker finds the best policy for the cost.

Only one claim so far. The underwriter canceled at the end of the policy, but the broker found someone else right away.

$1 mil w medium deductibles for $1200, another $600 for E&O which is essential for me.

Check with Erie insurance in your area, I had them for a few years for general landscape policy to cover stump grinding and they were reasonable. Now I have full tree service coverage with local VA company 1200.00 annual for 1 million liability and a few hundred more to cover equipment.

You guys might feel great about your rates, meanwhile I am crying over here. 1 mil / 2 mil for commercial tree work and pesticide apps from The Hartford will cost me $5,300 this year. My next hurdle is the health insurance :bang:

I have 1mil. w/500.00 deductible, includes 5,000.00 medical @890.00 a year.
Even looking like good insurance, our best policy is "pay attention".
I'd hate to see the day I have to submit a claim.
