I have a 2006 Genie TZ50 that had a battery fire on the passenger side (as hooked up to the tow vehicle). View attachment 255518 All of the major components on that side were fried. Looking to find a salvage machine or used parts center so I don't have to buy everything new from Genie. Would be great if I could find a tz50 that was tipped over and the boom is now bent and put out of commission but the hydraulic/electric componenets are good.

thanks for your help.

Insurance?

Sorry - it was misleading the way I worded it. I bought it that way as a salvage machine figuring I would fix it up as a backup to my other tz50 lift. I already have a rough idea of what new parts will cost and can use them as a worst case scenario - I would like to find used parts if I can.

Have you tried to contact Genie. I have a 2005 tz 50 that had the motor controler replaced a few years back. This past summer my dealer called me to check on the part number of the motor controler since there was a recall because of fire problems. I was told to unplug power connector asap and put out of service till the serial number was checked to make sure it wasnt faulty. Recall could be to your benefit.

found out today that parts will cost me about $5000 to fix this lift up. That's along with about a week of my time if I do the repairs myself. However, now that I'm going to sell out after this season, I'm not sure I want to do the work nor put the money into it. So, if someone wants a $25k lift for a lot less money, give me a call and we can negotiate something.
