I'd wondered how Rich knew my nickname was "headache", and every time he called, I'd look up only to find he was throwing something at me!  I don't think that's very nice.

Dan,

The saws were nice, but nothing could keep me from the tree work.  Rich couldn't have been feeling his best and he admitted he hadn't done a footlock like that in a couple of months but I had the biggest time watching him work anyway.

To see which spindle it was, look at the picture Roger embedded in his post.  The white truck box in the background hides half a tree with it's left edge.  That's not it, but rather the next one to the right, and they almost appear to converge at the top of the image.  For further indication of scale, the larger of those two trees was a bit further up the hill than it was to the side in the photo (that is, it would appear marginally larger in comparison were they the same distance from the camera), and itself probably doesn't quite make 24" if I remember it right.

Rich did a good job sizing up my ability and made cuts I could lower with good control.

It didn't really occur to me at the time, and I don't know how personal the gear is, but sometime during the long drive home I got to kicking myself for not asking could I borrow the harness and try the footlock myself.  I'm thinking I could do it and that it'd be fun.

I also have to complement Rich for his tree work.
He appeared to be a true professional.
I still don't know why or how a man of his size would want to slither up a rope 60' + to cut a few limbs out when it would be so much easer to notch it and do it standing on the ground!
Who’s got the pictures of Rich in action?????

Hey fellas looks like all you guys had a really good time down there at Dan's place , I was hoping to make it down there but unfortunatly my PP385XP decided to take my foot as a log while I was bucking so they had to put my big toe back on my foot :( but atleast I'll be able to walk again within the next 4 weeks. Sorry guys I was really looking forward to meeting all of you and I'm sure I would of had a great time with you all . Maybe next time I can make it and have some fun. Well either way looks like you guys had some really good times on your saws . Thank god for all of you saw builders out there for building us bad a$$ toys to cut wood with your all great.

And Dan if you read this thnaks for building me my 385 it's still going strong but I think it will need to be freshened up soon as I now have over 500 mbf on it , I think she's about due : ) Once I get back to work I am seriously thinking of calling you up for a PP 7900 and see how I will like that. Shoot me a email sometime with a price for one power ported and I'll get back to you. Wish all you guys the best and " Keep the Chips Flyin "
