Getting into Saw Porting, Tuning etc.

Hey everyone. I have been wanting to start porting and tuning saws for a long time.

I never wanted to take the chance with a new saw, so just have never started.

I have rebuilt many engines. My first engine rebuild was a Honda CB750 four cylinder motorcycle when I was 15.

My experience is all on 4 stokes, but I am sure that would be handy with the 2 Stoke engines.

I have a machine shop. Two Bridgeport mills, a larger precision manual lathe, a large CNC lathe, and all the other shop stuff to go with it.

Are there any good resources to get started? I have seen some stuff in YouTube, but I don't know enough to know who is doing it right and who isn't.

Also how do you get saws? I have called multiple dealers and none have saws that they will sell as parts, as they are all fixing them.

Hello. Look on eBay and facebook marketplace, When you have a saw to port. We can look for porttiming numbers and size. A Husqvarna 346 is an easy saw to start with.
