Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if there are specific gloves people would suggest for climbers. I've been doing a lot of Fir and Pine removals recently and I'm sick of busting my knuckles open every day. It seems like something with the fingertips missing might be ideal for having good finger dexterity while keeping my skin intact but I'm open to any suggestions.

Thanks,

Geordie

These from TreeStuff: http://www.treestuff.com/store/catalog.asp?item=59

I switch to the Atlas ThermaFit in the cold days (put a pair of poly liners on under them when it is really cold).

I know a lot of folks like the Atlas Fit gloves (cotton with latex palms) for every day. TreeStuff sends a pair of these: http://www.treestuff.com/store/catalog.asp?item=399 every now and then in a box of other stuff as a freebie. They are OK...probably pretty good for the price, but if I like Atlas better than those, and the first ones I linked better than either. These may be good for really sappy trees that you can feel OK about throwing them away after one tree.

I use the yellow gripper gloves. They are cheap - get them by the dozen at baileys (I'm sure other suppliers have them too). They are ambidextrous, you can put sappy gloves on the other hand and get more miles out of them. Also being cheap, it's not a big loss when you have to retire them.

Thanks guys, that all looks good. I'll get a few different pairs and find what I like best.
