I recently planted some goldenchain tree seeds and have two lovely seedlings. There growth has been very rapid. 6-8 inches in six weeks. I have been transplanting it regularly as it outgrows its cell pak. It is now in a 3 x 3 container. I fertilized it a couple of times when transplanting with a transplant fertilizer for root growth. It is being grown under lights. I have started to notice that the bottome leaves are losing their chlorophyl [greencolor] between the veins on the leaves and are even starting to yellow and drop off. I have lost the bottom two leaves and the next set up are progressing the same. I have been watering them when the soil appears to dry out. Both seedlings are doing the same thing. I just discovered this morning that both of the lights in the holder may have been regular fluorescent lights and not in fact one grow, one regular. Are the lights the problem, too much water, not enough water, too much fertilizer, not enough fertilizer? We did replace both lights this morning with gro lights [now have 2 bulbs]. Any suggestions would be appreciated. This is my first attempt at growing trees and I am quite attached to these two little seedlings. Would hate to loose them. Thanks

Susan

I think it sounds like you are trying to grow a outside plant inside . Am I right . Not a good idea . Most outside trees need a cold period . hope this helps

hi,
i think that osb mail may be on something here. temperature might be too high for those trees. Also do you have enough drainage or are their roots sitting in a wet soil at all time? you can try to move them outside. Also do you keep them under light 24 hours /day?
