It's a bandit model 90 9" chipper. It's hard for me to come up with 10 grand at at time so I might be able to finance it. I am already paying hundreds of dollars a month on dump fees so having a chipper would save me a ton.

I am still in school taking 12 grad units, which keeps me busy but I work 2 or 3 days a week. Insurance, payroll, taxes, rent, and school bill (1000 a month), takes a big chunk of change every month. All that to say, after paying all that I don't make a ton and I will be done with grad school by (hopefully) May or December of 2012. Is paying this much for a chipper (for my situation) worth it? And it this chipper even a good deal? It's only a few miles away from where I live and I was able to look at it a week or 2 ago. It looks great in the pictures but it's actually a little beat up. I just love the fact that it's gas and I don't have to worry about CARB regulations.

I also would love to get my hands on a BC1000 if I can get one financed for around the same price. Haven't seen any though. In fact I would love to get ANY 9"+ CARB qualified chipper for under 10 grand

Well...they painted it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not a Bandit. It's a Woodchuck which is Altec now and 10G's is about twice as much as diesel disk models are going for at auction and on EBAY. You can find a better deal than that, I think.

It looks like a bandit to me. I dont know what this 17" drum they are talking about is though. That looks like a disk chipper from here.

I agree though, way too much money for that chipper.

Workin' hard today, I see. lol I agree, looks like a bandit to me and someone is seriously confused on the "drum" thing. Be wary of fresh paint on a machine, can hide a lot. Not sure what the going rate for a unit like that is. All I can say is 10K will get you a chipper, but you better have some extra in the bank, and be ready to spend it. If you're financing you should really think about buying new.

A bandit it is then, though I think they at least stole the model number from Wood/Chuck. Mike, is this what it looks like under the paint or worse? Dealers think paint will add 80-90% to the value. Like makeup in dark bars.

Hey, I cleared $1700 in a day and 3/4 this week.. not bad for a dead week! But shh.. next thing you know everyone will wanna be a treeguy! lol.

My mechanic buddy stuffed a JD 85hp deisel off a 200+ and onto one of those little chippers.. pretty nasty for a nine incher I'll bet!

.. but yeah, I'd keep looking mike. That gay CARB deal (or whatever) must make it tough though, no doubt about that.

$850 by 11. Ta Da! I think Dano's got a little Bandit 90 with a 45 horse diesel? I could be wrong on that but it's a solid little machine. I can't imagine financing one of them new would be too costly.

Yeah, it's a Bandit. I paid 11K for the same model back in 07. Mine had a Kubota diesel and was a disk chipper. was a 97 model with only three hours on it. It had been bought by a municipality with hurricane money, used once and garaged. It was actually worth about 18K as it was basically a new chipper.

Most dealers are going to paint their chipper or whatever before they sell it to try and bring a premium price.

It has relatively low hours so it's not too bad of a price but I would rather have a diesel/disc chipper. Take someone with you who knows equipment and ask to see it demoed if you plan to buy it.

Wow 10 g's its a shame your not closer I have a 1230A clean as a whistle with 2800 hrs. for 8g's that would run that gas machine under the table , that machine is way overpriced really it is , and that coat of fresh paint will fade really quick and then your just gonna have a old machine think about it .. there are a ton of machines out there ......

10g's does sound high you can get more machine for that kinda money. i got my 2006 250xp with 372 hours on it for 19,500 with all the bells and whistles. winch, hydralic down pressure rollers ect. if you spend the time to look around thiers always someone in a hurry to unload a machine thats not making them money but costing them.

17" disc on the chipper = 9" cap, Family of mine bought a 12" morbark with a bigger hp motor than that for $7500. I run a Chipmore tm-120 6" but I sell alot of firewood hard and soft so chipping everthing doesn't happen on my jobs. I work tree service as a second job to pipeline work.

I bought 2 chipmores for $1200, did alittle work on one and sold the worst one on craigslist for $1630. There alot cheaper than the one your looking at but it does the job nicely. No more hauling brush. Not alot that can go wrong on it either.

Good Luck and Shop around
