I'm looking for a good used chipper in or around the California SF Bay Area.
Anybody have any ideas on that, or know where Davey Tree or Asplundh auctions off their old equipment maybe? :monkey:

Thanx, I'll check them out.
Still would like to know where Davey or Asplundh auctions their stuff though.

Thanx Buckettruckbabe,
I'll check them out.
I attended an auction just last week... but the chippers they were pushing could not be operated in California. Missed some good deals cuz of that.

Have you tried the Bandit dealer in Livermore. Cal-Line Equipment. The usually have some trade ins or will have some comming in. It is hard to find a machine that is carb certified these days. You can also buy a older machine and replace the engine with a new certified one.

Hey Scott,
Yeah... carb certified... I hear CA emission laws are changing in January.
I'll give Cal-Line a look see.
Not wanting a chipper that needs engine work though.
Thanx for the tip!

2004-Bandit-90XP

Just thought I'd post an update.
I found my chipper... it's a 2004-Bandit-90XP.
Ex-Rental unit, only has 120 hours on it, runs great, chips even better.

I was just looking at a new Bandit 90xp at a conference earlier this week. Those are some pretty sweet chippers. It sure looks like it would chip just as well, if not better than my 12" Vermeer. Nice find. Best of luck with it and I hope it makes you tons of money.

Baker, EMR,
I appreciate all the good thoughts, thanx.
I am jazzed about this chipper, more machine than I thought I could afford.
All my previous experience was with chuck & ducks...
This is the first piece of equipment I've bought without suffering any buyers remorse whatsoever.
Rock'N'Roll!

You got a good machine. Cresco takes good care of there machines. You need to make sure you put the engine registration in your business name I think it is like a car you only have so much time before they charge more fees.

Yep... she runs like a top Scott. Taking those Cresco stickers off was a pain. There were 8 of them! Used a heat gun... but still lost some paint in the process. Bummer.

Engine and trailer both have been put in company name.
