Of course it needs some work. My brother gave this one to me. I guess he loaned it to a friend and it came back broke. Guess he hit the brake at full speed a little too much or something.

Anyway, I'm not an expert on these, but this is my old homemade buck saw and axe I've been using so if I can get this thing going, that would be great.

Is there any hope for this thing?

sorry didn't notice, welcome to the site. i'm no expert but some of these guys will offer you some good advice. the good advice ends at the political threads though.

Yeah the spikes are bent. I have the bar and my brother has the cover still. Is anything else missing?

looks like everything is there. you'll need a guage to tell exactly how much compression is there but you should be able to tell if theres something seriously wrong with the piston/cylinder just by pulling the starter and you should get quite a bit of resistance. you'll also want to make sure you have spark, then air and fuel. not sure how much you know about this stuff so sorry if i'm telling you stuff you allready know. if you need that info i can help you with the basic stuff and cheap easy fixes but as i said there are some awesome saw guys on this site that know infinitely more than myself. i have run these saws though and if there's nothing seriously wrong with it i can help. might want to find out the real story about what your bros friend did to the thing though, might save you a lot of trouble.

Thanks guys. I'll do what it takes to get the saw going. Just figuring out what I'm in for.
