its 1/2 6200lbs avg strng seems to be pretty tuff as for abrasion resistence a lil slick yet but im sure that will change as i break er in, about the same bounce/stretch as arbormast blue streak IMO holds knots well worked fine tail tied with a blakes and VT on 3/8 tenex

for a lil under 100 bucks seems like a great rope to me availble dif colors but i like the brightness, ive seen one rope get fed into the chipper tied to the climber. dont want that to happen to me

o yea its a 16 strand

I just got my package from Sherril Tree...a crisp new 200' hank of Snakebite static line, a 200' throwline, and a camo ditty bag...purty rope...even came with some christmas wrapping paper! nice color even looks like a snake..hopefully i wont try to kill it with my chainsaw...maybe but hit it with pruner try to knock it out! ahhh it's tied itself around me!!:computer2:

Been climbing on Fire for 3 years now. It holds up very well. You will find it takes a while to break in and it does seem to stay "slick" for quite while. I find it really good in palms where it doesnt get hung up on the thorns in Washingtonia's. I guess there probably arent too many palms in Pittsburgh tho....

That sounds bad! How did that story end?

it was a lowering line run through our anchor crotch and the climber was on his way to his next point i turned around just in time to see my buddy walking from the chipper and the blue rope wraped around a sycamore limb the rope got tight shot up in the air and snaped and shot back out all in a sec., "WTF was that did my rope just get chipped, dam guys almost rippedme out the tree :censored::censored:" i picked up the other end all frayed and :censored: said yep looks like it you ok? let me go get the other rope.

he wasnt happed but it was a leasen learned and no one got hurt

Had a similar incident with a tag line attached to my climbing belt. The chipper crew was just below me and I could see the rope getting uncomfortably close to brush being dragged to the chipper. So I tied the rope with a slip knot, just in case, and then it happened, the rope got sucked into the chipper with a limb. That rope got spun around the chipper rotor in the blink of an eye, then broke, otherwise the whole rope would have been sucked into the chipper, no time to react.

Happened to me before as well. Our old whisper chipper was screaming away and I saw my climb line just barely hung on an oak branch moving toward the chipper. I yelled out to no avail and untied the line in time to watch all 150 feet zip out the tree, shred and leave some very colorful polyester chips in the back of the truck. A bit mad, I was, but like you guys said, at least no one got hurt.

120' of XTC Fire only a cpl climbs on it but i like it so far

take that biner off and turn it into a flipline adjuster. sooooo much better a use than to dead end your climb line to.

i use a 2 n 1 lanyard so that is why i bought it
