I went to New England grows today and the boss bought us a bunch of new gear. I ended up getting the BF II. Very comfy!

My buddy got the only saddle that I wanted it fit us both but he tried it on first. Its the Tree Austria duo. Its not the new one with the seatbelt buckle leg straps just the waist.

I also got one of the throwbag storage triangles that fold out into big square boxes. This one is only available through Shelter Tree. It is a much nicer design than the one from Sherrill.

To finish it off was a couple of Am'd Petzl ball locks.

A girl competition climber from MA was there doing a demo, she had two bridges on her belt a long and a short, at the same time. What are the advanteges to this?

Nice pick with the saddle. That's what I use, and I love it. It's comfy, and gets even better as you get use to it. Have fun.

I like my Tree Austria but it isn't very durable. The bridge wore through the first layer on mine in less than a year. But it's comfy so I bought a second one. I'll be interested in hearing how your butterfly holds up compared to the TA since you're in a position to compare them over time.

I also saw the new Tree Austria saddle today. he said they come out next week he only had a demo with him. the Duo was 220 and this new one was 240. It had seatbelt type buckles all around and a different ring on the bridge. it was also different colors. Anyone know anything about this one?

Hmmm. I keep two sliders on my single bridge, just for the versatility of being able to belay an occasional limb out of the tree without using the one I use my abseil device, or for accessory reasons.

I would think (and I don't really know) that the long bridge would allow you to do severe right or left turns, and instead of your rope connecting you up front, your connection would be well around to one side or the other, almost around back.

But truly, that's just a stab at the 'why'. I really don't know. I know if I had a double bridge on my saddle, I'd find novel uses for it.

Its just an update. I guess some guys were wanting leg snaps and a small ring as well as 'manly' colors.

As for the triangular cubes that fold out into big boxes....I have them too. Its the Faltiemer. They are very nice and compact. A little pricey but worth it IMO.

Thats the one. I love mine. IMO a far superior product to the one that Sherrill has to offer.

A girl climber? Never seen one, if she can do the job good for her. Other than that I have little clue as to what you'all are talkng about.

It was probably Melissa, she pretty much just competes as far as climbing goes. Otherwise she is for the most part a CA. I've been up in a tree with her before for work purposes, she can DEFINATELY hold her own on that front.
