I'd give two cents to know if BlueRidgeMark got his saw going. Who do I send it to?

Send your two cents to Mark. I need to sell him a new saw and every penny counts,:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

Okay, how's UPS, COD sound? Rather than have them going everywhere, I could just send them to you to apply towards Mark's new saw.

Not yet. Too tired to mess with it any more yesterday. Got a class tonight, so I won't get to it until tomorrow evening.

Well, the old man was right! The chips have been flying this morning.

I was sick this week, so didn't get to it until this morning. I decided to cheat, since I don't have three hands. Set it on a good oak round (which came from an AS member), ran a 1x4 through the handle, and screwed it to the round. Made for a nice, comfortable height to work with. (What can I say? I'm lazy!:D) Here's what that looked like:

Now one hand on the front handle, and I started pullling. OOOPS! Forgot the decomp - almost yanked my arm of since I wasn't expecting it! :D I guess the compression is okay... :D

So, try again WITH the decomp depressed. No choke, half throttle position. Took about 8 or 10 good strong pulls, but it fired, ran rough for a bit, then settled down and purred.

I'll post more pics of what I was cutting tonight - got a new sawbuck for you to look at and get your comments on. Right now there's a dead pine that is calling me...

That third hand there looks fool proof to me......

Here's that pine. Deader than a doornail. Ants had already made quite a home. Notched it, backcut, and it started to go, so I just backed away with about 3" of holding wood left. It sort of just quietly laid down. Too slow to call it falling!

I've got most of it bucked into 5 foot logs. I plan to use them to make a planter. Got plenty of hardwood for heat this winter.
