I had started a thread about getting a new saw (New saw, Not now) and what happened while I was looking at them. It has been a couple of weeks and I finally went back in there.

I asked what he'd like to do about the toys that broke while my girls were playing with them and he sheepishly agreed that whatever I wanted to do would be fine because he felt like an ass over the whole deal. I told him that I had bought a replacement for the one that was 20 years old ($20 ebay) and he said that'd be great.

I told him that I had decided on the MS441 but would like to wait since the warranty was only 90 days. He said that he'd go a year since I am not in the firewood business. I said "Let's do it!"

It happened, I have pics,

$824 out the door with a 28" bar and 3 chains. It is going to wear a 20" 95% of the time.

Kendall just turned 5 and Elena turns 7 next week.

I am going to order an 8 pin sprocket and bigger spikes tonight. I also want to get a carrying case for it but it won't fit in the Stihl case because the chain brake is too tall. Anyone find a case that it fits in?

i'm real glad to hear it all worked out and the owner accepted at least some responsability. nice saw and bar you got there, looks like the girls like it too!! tell them both the guys on AS said to keep dad in line.

Well glad it all worked out for you. Nice looking girls and saw you got there.

Good to see it worked out for ya. Maybe the fella was just having a bad day that day.

Thanks guys! The girls love to go out to the trees with me. Elena wants to run a saw, too bad by the time she's big enough that will most likely change, lol.

I did cut one cookie with it. I like the sound and it felt right in my hands. I can't wait to get out and make some chips!

I know there was a thread about cases for big saws, but I have been unable to find it. I haven't located the other parts yet either. What sponsor carries them? I have looked at Bailey's and a couple of others.

Congratulations on the saw and the cute daughters, enjoy them while they are this age! I have a 441 and I know you will like it as well. After it gets broke in and maybe out of warranty do a "lakeside Andy" muffler mod on it. I did mine and I am not sure it gained much but it sure sounds better! Just something to keep in mind. Have fun

Steve

Nice saw and nice daughters. I have a 5 yr old daughter and a 7 year old son and your picture brought a smile to my face. Glad the owner came thru for you and that was good of you to help fix the ill feelings.

nice saw and beautiful kids!

You are gonna treasure that photo!

My oldest daughter is three. Today I taught her what chainsaws eat (gas) and showed her where a chainsaw's tummy is. She came in and told Mom everything she learned. She also knows that gas is yucky and only chainsaws like gas. She thinks chainsaws are great just because Dad thinks chainsaws are great!

Well done with your dealer and the saw, probably find it takes a lot of tanks of fuel before its at its best.Yes the 8 pin is the go with the 20'' bar and green soft woods. The smooothest saw i have ever used, you wont be dissapointed.:clap:

Good deal on the saw Man, sounds like the dealer was ok after all. Your girls are cute as buttons! I have 6 yr old and 20 month old girls myself.
