I got my new saw in the mail today. It a 346xp. I put the bar and chain on and filled up the tanks. The saw fired right up. All I have to say is wow this thing really gets it. I love the way this little saw cuts. After using it for just a tank of gas I'm impressed. I had an 026 pro before this. This little Husky would out cut that saw anyday. It's a different kind of power. I have been using bigger saw a lot lately. You do have to watch this saw a little more. It is easy to stick the chain if your not carefull. Bit if you feed the saw at the right pace it really cuts. As long as this saw doesn't have a lot of repair problems my next saw will be a husky also.

No not from Northern Tool. I bought it from Norwalk Power Equipment. This is the second saw I have bought from them. I take it to the local shop to get fixed. Everytime I buy a saw I give him a chance to earn my business. I don;t ask him to match the price just to do better on his. He won't budge off retail so I buy from Norwalk. It saves right around $125 for the saw. That's a lot of money when you are talking about a $400 item.

Not trying to piss the Stihl people off. I had an 029 that lasted almost forever that was a good saw. I still have a 046 Magnum that is a great saw. But this little husky out cuts that 026 I had hands down. matbe I had a sick 026 who knows. I'm not brand specific on chainsaws. I really liked my Echo CS6700 so i bought a CS520. That 520 cuts slows so it will be a while before I give Echo another shot.

Congrats! Thats a good saw, and you are correct, a different kind of power.
What really matters is that YOU are happy with it, its your money. I do not have a problem with shopping around for price either. I use Stihl almost exclusively, dealing with three different shops. One of the places I deal with is always about 5 or 10 percent less for the same new saw, which means usually $50 to $75 more for my pocket. Enjoy it!

Oh boy, you just p@ssed off a lot of Stihl folks here......:sword:
Congrats on your new saw. I hope you may stay out of technical trouble, and don't need a dealer to fix it.

Shoot he didn't tick me off at all. I want me one of those new 346's due out with the bigger cylinder. Its going to have to really bark to out saw that German made 5100 I have. Looking down the page Belgian I see he said something mighty good about the 029 too. Remind me to send Peter over here when he gets online. No doult he'll eat up what the man said about his new 346 and discredit what he said about his old 029, appears this man ran his 029 more than twice,:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

That 029 cut over 750 ranks of firewood. It held up good. I only had it in the shop twice in 10 years. I didn't think it was worth sinking money into so I sold it on e-bay. I got around $90 for it. So I think it was a good saw.
