Got my saw today

I just got my 028 Super today. I bought it off of e-bay. It came with a Stihl 20in bar with a Carlton chain (.325 pitch). I put new gas in it, added some bar oil, free-handed the chain (right handed side was fine but left handed side was trashed...cleaned up ok...enough to leave some great saw chips). I also cleaned the air filter. Dealer said there is a forward and aft air filter set. Only found the main one on the carb and the little screen on the shroud.

Wow this saw came just in time for our big wind storm up here. Lots of downed trees. Temperature is dropping which makes our trees a little more brittle. Can't wait

Hey, nothing like having a Stihl..even though it is an older one, it feels like an extension of my arm. :greenchainsaw:

disandat, Good to here that you like your saw.
I just walked in the house,from converting my super to a rim
type sprocket. I got to smelling raw pre-mix, it was coming
from the gas tank vent hose. The hose was cracked and very
brittle. You mite want to check yours, Hope you have good
luck with your new saw.

Thanks, I'll take a look at it. I didn't even check the piston, but it has good compression. The chain was sharpened by a seasoned amateur but was repairable.

Funny, I got it today from the UPS driver. The box was smashed a half the peanuts were gone. The saw was in bubble wrap. Nothing broken and runs just fine.
