Well, its ripping chain. The cutter looks like its chipper, filed at 10 degrees. Sometimes I get chips like Im cross cutting, but most of the time is dust, not real fine, but smaller than chips. The lazer chain alternates the width of the top cutter from full down to about a third and then repeats the process every three cutters. Its does seem superior to the woodsman pro, but at $.38 per drive, its damn costly.

I've always used Stihl RS full skip chisel chain square ground out of the box, then modify it at the first sharpen to 2 cutters at 10 then 2 with no top plates. Not sure I can tell the difference from the stock chain. I was just given an Oregon 72 (semi-chisel) full comp modified with two cutter at 10 degrees, then two with no top plates, etc... Needs sharpening, but I try it next time.
