Got the stop rope stuck!

ya think it's wedged in a port maybe? crank it counter to normal a wee bit and see if it frees up. Look over the rope really well, and consider the gamble that some of it may still be in the cylinder. I size up the rope before it goes in, just in case. Also I don't put the rope in until I'm in compression

This is just what I get for being in a hurry. Pulled the muffler and can see tailings of the rope in the port. Can't budge either way.

safe to say, pop it's top or risk debris in your cylinder. I've been close to there. Now, like I say, I use a pen light and see that I'm well into compression, then coil some rope in there - doesn't take much. cheers
 
Got it out! Took a hammer handle and twisted the rope and it freed up. Compressed air took care of the fray. There ain't no way it's gonna happen again with me.
