The bolts are vibrating out of my saw.

It's a newer 395xp

20" bar, ripping chain, 38rp

First the bar bolts, that breaking the chain tensioner.

Then the allen bolt under the white plastic pillow block under and in front of the clutch.

Now the cover bolt, top, front, left.

When I use the granberg small log mill on granberg guide rails, the rail adjustment bolts vibrate up and out. This lowers the rail and ruins the cut.

The saw runs fine and I use it for firewood all the time. I don't feel unusual vib's.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I use either hondabond or permatex #2 as a thread lock on the saw's bolts. They actually seem to work better than blue loctite.

I have no experience with the small log mill, but the hardware on a Granberg Alaskan is a low grade of stainless that galls very easily, so rather than use a threadlocker, I keep the threads lubricated with anti-sieze. I've never had a problem with them rattling loose, but I suppose if that problem arose, the stock nuts could be replaced with nylon locknuts.

The mill it self is not a problem. It is the height adjusting screws on the granberg guide rails that are vibrating loose.

I have used selant as thread lock messey but works good , or maybe a jam nut .Both slow down setting rail though . Also you mite play with the rakers and change the rpm just a bit .
