Yup...

as long as the pitch and gauge match up you are OK. The yellow bars just have a little bigger radius on the nose (vs the green bars)

Depends - if the chain gauge is larger than that of the bar groove, then your risk of even needing the chaps is minimal...

But make sure you use the correct color guage,
to match the specific chain.
Do a search on colored chain guages.

Man, Im in trouble. All my bars are grey, and my chains are black with shiny parts, Im sooooo confused.......:dizzy:

For safety's sake, everyone should run their green or yellow bar without chains for a while. When you get pretty good at cutting timber with no chain, then move up to the green chain and then the yellow.

This will allow you to work into the nonsafety chain slowly and minimalize the traumatic differences in green vs. yellow.

Please post pics of the first log you cut without a chain on your saw. This will validate your training and allow you to move to the next level.

What, a Bowtie guy with no cans of Chevy Orange Engine Paint on hand? :yoyo:

There are few things on earth that can't be made better looking, or if not, chased down & set on fire with a spraybomb of Chevy orange enamel.

Get busy Man!

And for pete's sake make sure the saw is broken in properly, as well as never hold the saw longer than you have to without the bar touching wood at wide open throtle!!
