just a quick one, ive been climbing on a prussac loop for a while and just wanted a bit of advice, whether its ok to climb with a gri-gri instead of the traditional prussac loop, anybodys advice would be welcome
I use my gri gri mostly for SRT on the rads system, but there are lots of times I'll for one reason or another switch over to drt and It works well for descending(on small dia. ropes)but it's no replacement for a prussic on Drt for limbwalking and stuff. It's a great tool and you'll probably find lots of uses for it, but its no spiderjack either.
I just got a rope wrench, it does some cool stuff, but it doesn't excel at everything. I would hate to not have my gri gri. It's a valuable tool when it fits the job. I use it on spars and palms as my second tie in too. It's a good tool to have in the arsenal.
