So I recently picked up a older rayco 1665 and it has the old finger style teeth on it . It is in need of new teeth and I was looking at going with green teeth for it but it seems everyone is running them on smaller machines and a few things I read were negative on a higher hp machine. Should I go with the green teeth or is there a better choice for a 65hp machine. Also what is the difference between the red and I believe green tooth choice. Thanks

Ive been down the road with rayco teeth, then the super teeth then green teeth 900 series and finally the greenteeth1100 series! if you are running a 65hp machine without a shadow of a doubt Greenteeth 1100 series all the way everday. I picked up a few extra pockets left right and straight counter bored and regular thread for each and some extra bolts and teeth and you will be grinding for a long time. as for the green and red teeth difference, they say the red is for softer wood and not so rocky ground, I sharpen my own teeth and have been for a very long time and I found that using the deeper dish red tooth will allow me to grind and still have a concave tooth to slice through nicely! Use a diamond wheel and a drill to sharpen, carefull of the dust use a mask and a fan to blow it away from you and others. These teeth are durable and can turn for a newer edge 3 times. I have been grinding with the same set up for over 2 years here in CT and it's rocky here and just broke last month my first set of teeth and bolts due to hitting a solid pipe property border rod that was solid steel about 1 1/2 inches thick. that sucked but other than that these teeth hold up for a long time. I grind with a Rayco RG Super 50 a 66 HP Diesel. Awesome! Do it you wont regret it!:msp_sneaky:

So go with the 1100 series the web site recomends 900 is there a big difference? Thanks for the info.

I went with the 900 series a while back because that is what they recommended also for my machine and I was breaking teeth and pockets left and right! I had to stop the machine and check all the time, cause if a tooth is broke and you keep grinding you will destroy the pocket, making your grinding expensive. When I went with the 1100 series, problems solved, much stronger bolt teeth and pocket. they messed up by ever recommending a 60 hp machine with the 900 series. 1100 series problems solved. Now go make some money! hope that helps.
