I'm looking for a grip tape solution for a machete. I have an Ontario Knife CT1-12 machete that I really dislike the handle on. Can't find any aftermarket scales for it. What are you guys using with success?

i forgot what i used, it was skateboard tape or hockey tape. after i got it the fit i liked, i rubbed bees wax into the tape , it gave it a xtra tacky feeling. on wood handles i drill a small hole in axe handles and pour in boiled linseed oil.
