OK maybe 2 days. My friend Jamie a climber took down a Honey Locust in my front yard this past weekend. Just the 2 of us doing all the work with no chipper. We hauled away over 8,000 lbs of debris. I gave a few of my fleet a workout and Jamie used his 084 to fel the trunk and flush the stump. I got about 2 tanks through my new MS-361 and think I made a good choice trading up from my 026. 2 days of lowering branches and dragging brush has given me new respect for ground workers. This is hard work. Jamie liked my shotgunned 7900 so much I have do the muffler on his now too.

The problem there is Jamie is a workaholic and had little patience for photography. I did send the 361 up the line once for use on one of the larger stems. Jamie seemed happy with it.

I guess I'am too much of a bush worker but I would have lopped the trunks off the tree then drop the rest its easier to buck up on the ground. I would have used the Ford 1 ton to control the direction of the tree if need be.

As for hauling branches and chunks I have taken up to 3-4 hours loading the truck putting the branches on heap them up then get ontop of the load and crush it down. I use the saw to cut the stuff up on the deck and push it down.

I got about 2000lbs of branches on the truck if I put it on loose I probably would have only gotten less than 1000lbs. Getting the branches off the truck was a pain it was like a brick of branches.

This area is implementing a burning ban no open burning of branches or brush piles so it looks like I maybe getting alot of work hauling brush. Most of the driveways in this area you will never get a truck and chipper down.

im nearly thru with a similar job,sedan..

Brush, brush and more brush! Never done a honey locust but many blacks, they are bad for brush too.

Just finished a good sized Ash (of some type) about 22" across a low stump. I knew it was brushy but... It was right on the highway so had to fall it parrallel to the ditch. Row of Spruce on one side, ditch on other, no place to clear the brush while working. Cut one or two stems and drag em around into my pasture as they had to be out of the way to get at the next ones. Repeat, repeat, repeat for 6 days. Okay, being 70 I only work about 4 hours a shot but I was really sick of that tree. At least I can still burn brush piles here.
