I'm genuinely interested in the Carlton Premium by Tsumura. Seems like you don't hear much about them, and I hardly ever see them advertised. They do use a little different looking nose.

Since we have some very knowledgeable new members I was hoping maybe they could make a contribution and give an opinion on these bars. Thanks, John

my vote is for the GB bars. seem to take more abuse(ie; bending, rail wear, bearing life to mention a few).
i've run a bunch in the past and still running differant brands.
stock husky(which i have real bad luck with),stock stihl,oregon,sanvik,laser,cannon.
(my reply seems a little open ended
) marty

Hi Lucky, Big Dutchman gave me one of those bars last week-good guy eh?
Anyway, I used it today on an EHP 7900 and dumped and bucked 8 good size hardwoods. Although too early to tell in terms of longevity, I like it so far.

John, nice name there! Anyhoo yeah that BD must be some guy to just give away a bar. How'd you get it on the plane? You would think the airport would've confiscated you and your sword.

What's the profile like? Has it got a little more belly like an oregon or slimmer like a windsor? Is the nose a bit larger such as the stihl yellow label? Take it easy. The other John.

Hey other John.  There are two profiles of Stihl yellow label available.  The 11-tooth tip (looks like the one on that other John's saw is about that size) and the glorious 13-tooth tip.

I know Oregon oven tempers there bars, but Cannon tempers each set of rails clear to the bottom of the bar groove.

Unless you work at Oregon how do you know how the rails of their bars are done. The above statement by Dennis Cahoon is untrue. I know because I work for Windsor, the sister company.

Oven tempering the bar is one thing but hardening the rails is another process in it's own, which I'm positve is done. I am sure Cannon oven tempers their bars as well or else the bar would bend like aluminum.

Just want to set the record straight. Cannon bars may be better but not because the competitor's bar, in this case Oregon, does not have hardened rails.
