Like the pictures. looks like some good saw logs in there, esp. the red oak. lot of fire wood laying there.

Acorn looks like a red oak. White oak acorns are longer. Shingle oak acorns the central part almost disappears in a short cap and are almost always found paired. Burr oak has the fringe around the edge of the cap.

I think he said he was headed to New York and wanted help for a charity cut there tomorrow?

Nice pics and a nice day it looks like! Funny how that last pic gives me the willies... I've had everything from snakes, gerbils, hamsters, lizards, and even a tarantula as pets in my life but an unexpected wild field mouse still makes me jump out of my skin! If one gets in the house I won't sleep until it's dead! I still don't have a reasonable explanation for it but I think it has to do with a brother who woke up once with one sitting on his chest in bed! I love my outdoor cat btw

Farmland here is $10k or more depending if it has been tiled and building lots are $30k per acre. Ridiculous.

People keep telling me no more land is being made so the price goes up:wtf::rock2::happybanana::happybanana:
It's not an infinite resource that's for sure! We have $10K/acre farmland here too. I felt like I stole my 13 acre woodlot a few years back at 2500/acre. Of course the seed, fertilizer, and taxes have all doubled since for the farmers(me too on taxes) so they make sure we can never get ahead! Ah, greed. No wonder I enjoy a quiet day in the woods!
