I want to learn to climb and yes I have someone who is a professional that can safely teach me the basics. Although budget is always a consideration I do put a high value on comfort. I'm 6' 3", 210lbs, about 40 waist and I have very large thighs. $400 would be a fine price point but if there's a lot more comfort to be had at $500 then it's worth it in my book. Since I don't know how to climb I can't really say what style I will lean towards, SRT, MRS, or other. So basically I am looking for some recommendations on a reasonably comfortable saddle for a guy with large thighs, and something that would possibly have better resale value if I end up deciding that climbing isn't for me. I have read older threads about different gear but sometimes manufacturers change things and info from 5-10 years ago is no longer valid.

Just go on wesspur and pick one i i would get one of the ones in the modern or cutting edge categories they look way more comfy than the traditional saddle i have. Although mine was 200$ vs 400-500$. Buy a saddle that goes around the waist and each thigh not a saddle with a seat like this

This one hurts because of hip pinch
Something more like this would be better

There are whole kits as well if you need other stuff
