Yes could be one of the rare southpaw models as well I guess. Not many of them were released in the wild.

It's actually not that hard to fix. Whichever direction this is facing, turn it around:

I always get saws that the customer says "does not run right". This one runs left. Problem solved.

thanks for the jolly replies, the saws havent arrived yet. one is missing several bits so will 066 bits fit ok? I paid £300 for the pair is that ok? also bought a once used stihl 41" bar chain and scabbard for £63, will a 064 pull that?

I would not be mounting a 41 inch bar to a poor old 064 personally- but whatever rocks your boat.
However, I am willing to bet the bar is large Stihl mount for 084/088 type saws and not the medium tail mount the 064 takes.
Missing several bits? Depends what bits those are and the vintage of the saw that the bits are missing from- but yes, most 066/660 bits swap over where needed except oil delivery systems alloy air boxes and flat filters.
Missing clutch covers are fairly easy- same thing from 024 up to 066- if you can find one that isnt busted up.
