I have a Heatmore 200CSS. I add water from inside my house as my system is connected directly to my Oil boiler in the basement. I just flip a lever and fill from inside. For you I am not sure how your system is set up but you have another place to add water if need be. On top of your unit you should see a small round solid rubber black colored ball next to the smoke stack. Just lift up that ball, it is connected to a stainless steel rod that goes into the water jacket on the furnace. It functions as a pressure relief if the unit were to overhead, water can come out the top by floating the ball. Heatmore's are not a true pressurized system but they do operate under about 3 PSI. They are I guess you would say, a semi closed system. You will also have a rubber bladder that is above the inside door. That little sign you saw hanging down is connected to that bladder and when it does not have any water in it the sign lowers itself down to let you know. The bladder when up to temperature should be about half full of water. It allows expansion and contraction in the system. By being semi closed you should not need to add water as often as some of the brands of outdoor furnaces. I would recommend you get online and get a copy of your manual for your unit. Also check to see if you have a local dealer you can contact with questions. Let me know if you have any more questions, I am not an expert on these but seem to be able to take care of any needs mine has. What model do you have?

Close valve on front where you saw the add water hangin down. I use a hose from a washing machine, in the back you should have a valve on the return side. Hook one end of the washer hose to that and the other to your garden hose. fill till spews out the top, shut down the water.open valve in front which in turn will fill the innertube on top of the unit when the water heats and expands, using it for reserve as needed. Much easier than it sounds
