Nice looking table, and welcome to AS. Every year I say I'm going to build one, and-well, you know how that goes. Going to make a concerted effort to git er dun before next spring.
I don't have a table on my splitter so I use a "workmate" table. You could give that a try until you get around to making one.

Gotta admit, didn't think of that. I have the square tube steel just waiting to be cut and welded up for the splitter table, it just seems to be one of them projects I never get around to because I'm doing something else. Still got a bunch of blow downs & one standing dead back in the woods I want to drag out and cut into rounds before they turn into mush. Weathers been a bear this summer, either to hot or raining.

I used my splitter one time before building a table. It is a requirement. Between saws, gas, oil, misc, log tools and everything else having to carry a separate table with me...don't know about that.

The workmate folds up flat so it doesn't take up much room. I posted pics of it a number of years ago but I guess they are gone. Next time I do some splitting I will try to get some pics.

I've read the table surface should be solid to help avoid debris getting caught and possibly bending something during a split....

The DHT 22 unit is well designed -- split four cords and no complaints so far, even with rounds that would cause a maul to bounce off!

I turned down a used SuperSplit today. We couldn't agree on a price & for what he had to get, I could almost buy a new one.

But....I think I am going to buy a new DHT 22 at Lowe's tomorrow. $999 Seems like a good machine, and it gets good reviews.

Wish me luck!

Luck! google online for a lowes coupon.

I've been looking also, nada. I pretty much had my mind set on a 22 ton DHT, but I can get a 27 ton at menards with a 11% mail in rebate, so that's where I'm going. Call or chat with Lowes online. Many times they will give you a percentage off. I do it all the time.

I'm just going to go there & see what I can do. I figure it comes with hydro fluid, so that is at least $50. It may be assembled, so that is some time. And it is less there than anywhere else I have seen it. So I figure I am ahead of the game anyway.

No cradle though....can't quite figure out why Lowes & DHT worked that deal.

I'm thinking of buying the 27 ton version soon! Seems like a really great splitter.
